This is for a future opportunity MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Lead Data Engineer to join our Data and AI Practice onsite in Chantilly and/or Herndon, VA. You will be a part of a dynamic, cross-functional team focused on transforming how Government clients extract insights from data to achieve critical mission objectives. This leadership role involves guiding a team and collaborating with others to implement this transformative process. You will be responsible for providing expert guidance and support in the analysis, design, implementation, and optimization of complex, enterprise-wide, cloud-based data migration solutions that align with mission goals and requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field and at least 10 years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or related roles
  • Experience with data replication and change data capture tools such as Oracle GoldenGate
  • Experience with cloud services from providers such as Oracle and their data storage and database services
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of engineers
  • Direct line management experience, including project, people, customer, and financial management
  • Experience with data warehousing, data lakes, and big data technologies
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or SQL. Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Must possess a current and active TS/SCI with polygraph

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with data security and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST framework).
  • Cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Developer, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with records management policies and procedure.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.
  • Knowledge of data governance and metadata management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of robust data pipelines to ingest, transform, and integrate data from various systems and networks, ensuring seamless data flow.
  • Collaborate with cloud and system architects to establish secure and efficient data transfer protocols among different networks and systems.
  • Work with data consumers to develop data requirements to support analytics and machine learning tasks.
  • Implement data pipelines and data storage solutions to support analytic workflows.
  • Optimize data pipelines and storage solutions for performance, ensuring low latency and high throughput for real-time and batch data processing.
  • Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with relevant data security policies and practices.
