Organization: VUMC IT Data Operations Center Job Summary: The Lead Computer Operations Specialist serves as the primary point of contact during their scheduled shift within our 24x7 IT Operations Center. This role is pivotal in training team members, ensuring adherence to departmental standards, and executing all Moves/Adds/Changes (MACs) within the Data Center. The Lead Specialist operates within a standard ticketing system, providing clear, timely, and appropriate communications. Under the direction of the Operations Supervisors and/or Operations Manager, the Lead Specialist performs these activities in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Program Policies, Safety Policies, and Security Policies, while meeting quality and quantity requirements. They are responsible for maintaining the data integrity of all assets in the Data Center. This position oversees the day-to-day operational needs of data center facilities in a 24x7 operating environment, ensuring the proper operating conditions for all IT processing and network equipment to guarantee 100% uptime for all systems. Additionally, the Lead Specialist provides remote hands support for any requests requiring actions throughout all of the Data Center locations, including but not limited to server/network equipment racking, provisioning power for new rack installations, data/storage cabling, and hands-on support for problem resolution.
