About The Position

The Lead Data & BI Scientist is a senior-level role that blends advanced data science capabilities with business intelligence leadership. This position is responsible for driving strategic insight generation, building predictive models, and leading analytics initiatives across departments such as sales, marketing, pricing, manufacturing, logistics, supply chain, and finance. The role requires both technical depth and business acumen to ensure that data-driven solutions are aligned with organizational goals and deliver measurable value.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree required, in a quantitative field such as engineering, mathematics, science, and/or MIS. Master degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of overall work experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in data science and statistical analysis.
  • Strong understanding and experience with analytics tools such as Tableau and OBIEE/OAC (or similar tools) for reporting and visualization, Snowflake for data storage, data modeling, data prep or ETL tools, R or Python, SQL, and data catalogs.
  • Strong understanding and experience with multiple statistical and quantitative models and techniques such as those used for predictive analytics, machine learning, AI, linear models and optimization, clustering, and decision tree.
  • Deep experience applying data science to solve problems in at least one of the following areas: marketing, manufacturing, pricing, logistics, sourcing, and sales.
  • Strong communication (verbal, written) skills, and ability to work with all levels of the organization effectively.
  • Working knowledge of and proven experience applying project management tools.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to lead and mentor the work of others.
  • High degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders to identify high-impact opportunities and form hypotheses.
  • Present findings and recommendations to leadership in a clear, impactful manner.
  • Demonstrate ROI and business value from analytics initiatives.
  • Define and implement data science processes, tools, and governance frameworks.
  • Mentor junior team members and foster a culture of continuous learning.
  • Design, build and validate predictive models, machine learning algorithms and statistical analyses.
  • Translate complex data into actionable insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Utilize tools such as Tableau, Power BI, OBIEE/OAC, Snowflake, SQL, R, Python, and data catalogs.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies like agentic analytics and AI-driven insights.
  • Evaluate and recommend BI platforms and data science tools.
  • Manage analytics projects from inception to delivery.
  • Provide training and change management support for new tools and processes.
  • Lead the establishment of a data science center of excellence.
