About The Position

The Lead Data Analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston plays a crucial role in providing analytical expertise and support to the Financial Support Office (FSO). This position is responsible for delivering end-to-end data solutions that align with business objectives, enhancing data practices, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders to define business requirements, developing data pipelines, creating visualizations, and building statistical models to perform various analyses. The Lead Data Analyst will also communicate insights effectively to help leaders leverage data for informed decisions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience and a Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science/analytics, or similar quantitative fields (Master's degree preferred).
  • 6+ years of applied experience with industry-standard development tools such as Python and R.
  • Experience with visualization techniques and tools such as Tableau, Power BI, RShiny, Python Dash.
  • Advanced SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases.
  • 1+ years of experience with cloud data services such as AWS and Azure (preferred).
  • Advanced experience in data modeling and understanding data structures, benefits, and limitations.
  • Advanced experience with statistical analysis and reporting.
  • Experience leading and influencing a complex, cross-function project team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and experience working independently with minimal oversight.
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP).
  • Familiarity with machine learning techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Independently deliver and manage direction for end-to-end solutions leveraging data to support business objectives of FSO.
  • Meet with department stakeholders to define requirements, iterate on solutions, evaluate costs and benefits, and communicate results succinctly.
  • Gather data and translate business requirements to provide appropriate analytical solutions, ranging from basic reporting to advanced analyses.
  • Deliver dashboards, graphs, visualizations, and supporting reports that enable teams to measure success and support decision-making.
  • Introduce external best practices and innovative solutions, identifying areas for improvement beyond initial requests from stakeholders.
  • Actively collaborate with other functional groups outside of the FSO, such as the FRBB Data & Analytics team.
  • Influence others and motivate positive change in data literacy and data management.
  • Provide oversight, guidance, and knowledge-sharing with members of the FSO, including coding and statistical expertise.
  • Lead Bankwide and/or System IT workstreams.
  • Serve as an active participant in data-centric communities of practice/governance teams.
