We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a Lead Data Analyst (Hybrid) on our Center for Optimal Health Outcomes team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 3 d ays a week in the office. This role will lead complex data projects across the Center for Optimal Health Outcomes (COHO) pillars including Research, Data & Evaluation, Community Health Impact, Policy Development and Health Systems Transformation. Responsible for executing advanced statistical analyses using large public and private healthcare datasets to uncover socioeconomic, demographic, and system-level drivers of health. Ensure high-quality, unbiased analytics to strengthen COHO's impact. Provide technical leadership and collaborative guidance to advance data-driven support for the business unit.

Requirements

Master's degree required
7+ years of experience in health services research, health policy, biostatistics, epidemiology, economics or other related field.
Background in health care information and analytics, academic research, hospitals, health plan or physician group administration required.
Proven ability to extract, transform and analyze data from large internal, public, and commercial databases, e.g. clinical registries, data warehouses, patient-reported outcomes and public surveys.
Extensive experience working with national healthcare datasets (e.g. Medicare, Medicaid, NHANES, BRFSS, MarketScan).
Proven experience in advanced statistical methodologies (e.g. panel, cross-sectional, uni- and multivariate, intersectional analysis, and correlation testing).
Ability to translate results into clear, actionable insights and recommendations.
Ability to manage and deliver multiple analytic projects simultaneously, overseeing each through all phases from design to completion.
Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
Proven ability to work as a team player while maintaining accountability for high-quality independent work.
Strong communication skills with ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts in both verbal and in written formats.
Experience collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders.
Mastery of analytical tools, such as SAS/R/STATA/SPSS.
Experience with data visualization tools, such as ArcGIS/Tableau/D3.
Working knowledge of Snowflake, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and AI data science.
Familiarity with query tools such as Oracle and SQL.

Responsibilities

Statistical and Analytical Expertise Provide advanced statistical expertise to design rigorous analytic frameworks and conduct complex data analyses that support cross-pillar collaborations and drive high-impact research initiatives across COHO.
Utilize quantitative and qualitative analytical methods to design and execute studies for COHO's Research, Data and Evaluation team.
Extract, transform, and load data from large internal, public, and commercial datasets and clearly interpret findings.
Ensure sampling procedures, data collection, and analytic methods produce unbiased, reliable results.
Compile, manage, and analyze statistical data; design or refine statistical methodologies to support ongoing research needs.
Independently conduct statistical analyses in alignment with approved analytic plans.
Serve as a key contributor on COHO research project teams, providing leadership in research design, data management, and quantitative expertise.
Analytical Findings Interpretation Interpret analytical findings and clearly communicate their implications to a variety of internal and external audiences.
Prepare written materials, including communications, literature reviews, reports, and manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals.
Support process-improvement efforts across COHO initiatives by providing data-driven guidance in alignment with organizational goals and business unit (BU) goal tracking.
Provide technical support in building and maintaining external research collaborations.
Lead analyses and reporting activities that support BU priorities and initiatives.
Cross Pillar Collaboration Partner with teams across all COHO pillars to develop, integrate, and enhance research data and analytics capabilities within the BU.
Provide technical expertise and guidance to COHO staff to support ongoing research, evaluation, and data-driven initiatives.
Lead special projects assigned, ensuring high-quality execution and alignment with organizational priorities.
Offer mentorship to junior analytic staff and interns (such as 1:1 support, group training, etc.) to strengthen team capacity and promote professional growth.
May include other responsibilities as assigned
