About the position
The Lead Custodian at Dynomax Inc. is responsible for overseeing custodial duties across three manufacturing facilities in Wheeling, IL. This role involves delegating tasks to the custodial team, maintaining inventory for cleaning supplies, and ensuring cleanliness in various areas of the facilities. The Lead Custodian will also communicate with vendors and suppliers, ensuring that all custodial needs are met efficiently and effectively.
Responsibilities
- Perform custodial duties while delegating tasks to team members.
- Maintain inventory for cleaning supplies, paper goods, and other consumables while working closely with the Purchasing Department to purchase supplies.
- Communicate with vendors and suppliers.
- Clean and supply restrooms and break rooms.
- Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and polishing, and shampooing carpeting as needed.
- Dust and wipe down surfaces in common areas such as lunch rooms, conference rooms, workout room, and training room.
- Properly clean all windows and mirrors.
Requirements
- 3+ years of custodial/maintenance experience.
- 1+ year of leadership experience.
- Ability to be on-call during off hours.
- Good communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Ability to communicate concerns and hazards in a timely fashion to a diverse audience.
- Ability to work independently with little to no direction.
- Ability to properly mix and prepare cleaning chemicals.
