About The Position

Lead Custodians are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of varying work environments. Lead Custodians clean assigned areas in plants and offices, occasionally using power equipment such as a floor sweeper, polisher, and vacuum cleaner. The following essential job functions are performed as a Lead Custodian:

Requirements

  • Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed.
  • Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in the English language
  • Must be able to work independently and at a fast pace, climb stairs while carrying a vacuum and supplies, and have the ability to lift up to 25 lbs
  • Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED
  • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for scheduling, prioritizing workload and assigning employees to various tasks
  • Possesses strong leadership, interpersonal communication, and mentoring skills.
  • Reports to Facilities Manager daily
  • Vacuums all carpeted areas, area rugs and all offices
  • Empties all trash and recycling containers
  • Cleans restrooms; duties include mopping floors, scrubbing sinks, partitions, toilets and washing mirrors and walls as needed
  • Sweeps & mops tile floors in break room and reception area; sweeps/Cleans entry area and any stairs
  • Dusts reception desk, counter, tables and windowsills
  • Cleans and starts coffee makers
  • Loads and unloads dishwasher as needed
  • Cleans sinks and counters as directed by Supervisor in the building they are working in
  • Cleans drinking fountains, office partitions, walls and windows, and replenishes supplies as needed
  • Inspect microwaves and refrigerators for expired items; cleans as needed and tosses out old food items
  • Stocks supplies as needed including, but not limited to coffee, tea, cups, creamer, salt & pepper, toilet paper, paper towels, sanitizers, etc.
  • Performs carpet deep cleaning/shampooing when needed
  • Must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines
  • Shall, always, demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors
  • Must be at work on time and maintain good attendance. This is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job
  • Performs other duties as assigned
