About The Position

The position involves teaching hands-on cooking classes and demonstrations, ensuring clarity and effectiveness in instruction. The instructor is responsible for setting up the class with all necessary ingredients and equipment 30-45 minutes prior to the start time. A positive and inclusive learning environment is essential, where students feel encouraged and motivated. The instructor must ensure that all safety procedures and protocols are followed in the kitchen environment.

Requirements

  • Must be able to pass Federal & State background check.
  • Valid Food Handlers and/or Food Managers Certification.
  • Proven experience as a chef, culinary instructor, or in a related culinary role.
  • Experience in both professional kitchens and teaching environments is highly valued.
  • Proven ability to teach and communicate effectively with both adults and children.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to clearly explain complex concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Assure class is set up and ready with all needed ingredients and equipment 30-45 minutes prior to class start.
  • Teach hands-on cooking classes and demonstrations, ensuring clarity and effectiveness in instruction.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel encouraged and motivated.
  • Ensure that all safety procedures and protocols are followed in the kitchen environment.
  • Design and organize the menu and recipes for the class.
