About The Position

The position involves operating computed tomography (CT) equipment, producing cross-sectional images of patients' bones, organs and tissue that are used to diagnose medical conditions. The role also includes leading staff activities, utilizing both professional and personal discretion as well as independent judgment, and acting as an expert clinician who demonstrates a high level of knowledge/expertise, serving as a leader/resource to the healthcare team.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology: Preferred
• Five years' technical experience: Required
• Two years' leadership experience: Preferred
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists: R.T. (R)(CT)(ARRT) OR R.T. (R)(ARRT): Required
• Radiologic Tech (RT) in the state of practice: Required in CA
• Advanced certification in the modality of CT: Required in OR and HI, Preferred in CA
• Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification: Required
• Fluoroscopy license: Preferred in CA and OR
• Venipuncture certification: Preferred in CA and OR
• ARRT-Radiography (ARRT-R) or ARRT-Computed Tomography (ARRT-CT): Required

Nice To Haves

• Advanced certification in the modality of CT: Preferred in CA
• Fluoroscopy license: Preferred in CA and OR

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for the CT diagnostic procedure by explaining the process and positioning the patient to correctly capture the images requested by a physician.
• Plans the daily patient workload to accommodate scheduled patients, including in-house and emergency patients.
• Guides a team, assigns resources, monitors work, develops and administers schedules, and oversees achievement of performance requirements.
• Assists manager in decisions involving employee hiring, employee evaluation, promotion and termination.
• Provides adequate staffing to accommodate patient workload, while covering vacations and sick days.
• Serves as technical leader on daily tasks and cases.
• Models/mentors and trains staff on technical skills.
• Recommends and coordinates scheduling of work assignments, daily priorities and directing the work of staff.
• Provides input into hiring and promotion decisions for staff.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
