About The Position

Are you passionate about providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment? The Multnomah Athletic Club is seeking a Lead Counter Attendant for Joe's Restaurant. This role involves preparing and serving food and beverages to members and guests promptly and with a smile. You'll be a key player in ensuring smooth operations by maintaining clear communication with team members and other departments. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Possession of a valid Food handler’s and OLCC (18 and older only) card mandatory.
  • Prior experience in a similar environment (coffee shop, sandwich shop) preferred.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, reach, twist, and lift at least 20 pounds regularly & climb stairs required.
  • Excellent customer service and decision-making skills.
  • Physical ability to operate point of sales system, professional cooking equipment including knives, espresso machine, blender, and ovens.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, members, and staff.
  • Ability to perform the essential job functions.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Provide enthusiastic, prompt, and positive service to members, guests, and employees.
  • Maintain a friendly, professional attitude and work collaboratively with the team.
  • Prepare and serve food and beverages (including espresso drinks, smoothies, deli items, and hot foods) according to standards.
  • Ensure accurate transactions and membership verification.
  • Uphold cleanliness and sanitation standards, including dishwashing and waste disposal.
  • Restock supplies, rotate products, and communicate with the kitchen team regarding inventory.
  • Follow safety policies and proper food handling procedures.
  • Complete opening, closing, and side work duties as assigned.
  • Maintain equipment and supplies to prevent damage or waste.
  • Serve alcohol responsibly in compliance with OLCC guidelines.
  • Demonstrate reliability through regular attendance and adherence to timing standards.
