Lead Counselor (Bristol, VA) Cedar Recovery is currently hiring for a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor with Mental Health Service Provider Designation (LPC-MHSP). The Lead Counselor will implement effective treatment strategies in coordination with the Clinical Director and play a vital role in helping patients feel better, get better and stay better. Cedar Recovery, LLC is an ASAM Level I outpatient treatment facility that employs an array of evidenced-based treatment modalities to provide an integrated model of care of medical, counseling, and therapeutic interventions to treat every patient’s individual needs and promote long-term sustainable recovery from substance use disorder. While Cedar Recovery provides care for all substance use disorders, it has a primary focus on treating opioid use disorder with medications such as Buprenorphine and/or Naltrexone, as well as Methadone (MAT). This role will oversee the therapy staff and programming at Cedar Recovery’s buprenorphine treatment Office Based Addiction Treatment (OBAT) and methadone treatment Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) facilities. Both facilities are based in Bristol, VA. Overview The Lead Counselor is expected to demonstrate expertise in: individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, consultation, advocacy, case management, substance abuse assessments, intakes, discharge/continuing care planning, and appropriate referrals. The counselor may also perform other related tasks that are a part of Cedar Recovery’s operation. The focus in this position requires knowledge of opioid addiction and direct practice in facilitating evidenced based treatment. Counselors are entrusted to maintain their expertise and continually gain knowledge via continuing education and training within the scope of opioid or substance abuse treatment.
