About The Position

Western Home Communities is looking for a passionate and dedicated Lead Cook to join our team! As a Lead Cook, you will play a crucial role in preparing high-quality meals for our residents, ensuring a safe and sanitary cooking environment, and maintaining inventory. Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license.
Valid ServSafe certificate (or local equivalent).
Previous experience in a food service setting.
Strong customer service background and the ability to interact effectively with others.
Familiarity with kitchen tools, pan sizes, knives, and food labels.
Ability to read basic English, including a limited number of two- and three-syllable words, and understand numbers.
Ability to perform basic math operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

Actively participate in planning, preparing, cooking, and serving high-quality, flavorful, and visually appealing meals for residents.
Maintain organization of food, supplies, dinnerware, and food service equipment.
Complete weekly inventory checks and place orders for necessary food items to maintain stock levels.
Ensure the cooking area adheres to safety and sanitation standards, complying with all applicable regulations.
Foster positive interactions with staff and residents, ensuring a welcoming environment.
Maintain necessary certifications, including food handling and safety, in accordance with federal and state requirements.
