About The Position

Malvern Treatment Centers is currently seeking a Full-Time Lead Cook/Kitchen Manager for our Malvern, PA location. This is a salaried position working 45 to 50 hours/week and is benefit eligible offering a competitive salary as well as a comprehensive benefits package. Position Summary: Responsible for the daily oversight of food service operation including the preparation of quality food items, sanitation, and service of the patients and staff.

Requirements

  • ServSafe Certificate required.
  • 2 years experience required in food service.
  • To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • This position requires individuals that are client focused; team oriented; great interpersonal and communication skills; flexible to sudden changes in workload, emergency, or staffing; dependable; problem solving skills; focused on compliance and performance quality.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares meals, snacks and food for patients, staff, and any other dietary function.
  • Cleans kitchen, equipment, and storage areas. Oversees proper sanitation procedures and ensures compliance of weekly and monthly cleaning schedules.
  • Ensures proper operation of all food service equipment and reports any concerns to the manager.
  • Monitors for compliance with County, Department of Health and CARF standards.
  • Follows dietary standards for special diets ordered for patients.
  • Presents attractive plates with fresh, wholesome, and nutritious foods in a cost-effective manner; presents food properly seasoned; presents food on time and at proper temperatures; and prepares meals of proper quality.
  • Follows recipes for food and provides food in sufficient quantity according to census.
  • Ensures daily temperature logs are maintained with use of functioning thermometers in all cold storage units.
  • Finds suitable uses for excess food to avoid waste.
  • Properly follows FIFO guidelines for all products.
  • Coordinates necessary preparation for next day’s meals.
  • Plans and coordinates new ideas and new menu items.
  • Attends in-services and all required trainings.
  • Checks deliveries for accuracy and quality.
  • Oversight of sanitation, placing food orders, confirmation of deliveries, temperature log checks, assurance of food quality and rotation.
  • Assists with maintaining professional behavior and food quality and procedures for the department.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.
  • Daily oversight of all kitchen personnel.
