About The Position

The Lead Cook / Cook Supervisor position will be located in a production Kitchen setting in Woburn MA. This person will be responsible for executing the daily/weekly menu to company recipe specifications and the day to day operations of the commissary, mass production. Main responsibilities will be: preparing exciting and engaging meals following Genuine recipes, leading a team of cooks, managing daily prep and ensuring all food safety & sanitation standards are being met.

Requirements

  • Must be flexible & team-oriented!
  • 3+ year of line cook or culinary experience (mandatory)
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic and level headedness.
  • Punctual and able to adhere to the time and attendance policy.
  • Interest in and committed to Genuine Foods’ mission to use food to help students enhance their minds, bodies and happiness.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong experience in K-12, hospital, university or production kitchen operations (preferred)
  • 1+ year of lead cook, supervisor or team leader role (similar industry) experience (preferred)
  • Willingness to learn the compliance requirements of the USDA National School Lunch Program. (K-12 experience preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure food safety standards are being followed at all times
  • Ensure all meals meet K-12 meal pattern requirements
  • Support menu substitutions based on product outages while maintaining compliance
  • Produce Special diet meals, allergen safe meal preparation
  • Monitor food quality, consistency, and presentation
  • Maintain compliance with HACCP, food safety, and sanitation standard
  • Assist with ordering, inventory management, and product rotation (FIFO)
  • Train and mentor team members on proper cooking techniques and kitchen procedures
  • Coordinate production timelines to meet delivery and service schedules
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment
  • Communicate effectively with management regarding production needs, shortages, or issues
  • Able to climb stairs and lift up 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in a school environment, flexible to cooking and covering at other Genuine sites (cover call outs- and pto)
