Hyatt Regency Cincinnati & Red Roost Tavern is seeking a highly motivated, passionate, and skilled Lead Cook / Supervisor to manage kitchen food service. This role involves working with a culinary team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, requiring a passion for food, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to create and implement new ideas. The Culinary Supervisor will demonstrate success as a cook, maintain a hands-on approach, oversee and coordinate culinary staff activities, ensure high-quality meal preparation, and manage inventory and food costs. Responsibilities also include developing and implementing new menu items, and training and mentoring culinary staff. The position requires overall basic knowledge of cooking techniques in both a la carte and banquet settings, and the ability to carry out tasks in both planned and troubleshooting scenarios, influencing team speed and accuracy, and positively impacting kitchen cleanliness, organization, and overall health.

Requirements

  • 3 years experience in the food and beverage industry
  • Six months to one year in a supervisory position
  • Read, write and speak English fluently
  • Food/Beverage Service Worker Permit, where applicable
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other Team Members
  • Demonstrated success as a cook and maintain the hands on approach
  • Overall basic knowledge of cooking techniques in both a la carte and banquet settings
