About The Position

Timberline Construction Group (TCG) is seeking a Construction Field Technician to support disaster recovery and housing reconstruction projects in the Asheville, North Carolina region. This role leads field operations, oversees technicians, performs QA/QC inspections, and provides hands-on field support as needed. Responsible for identifying deficiencies and ensuring corrective action is taken prior to milestone inspections. This role requires a high level of accountability, urgency, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of construction field experience in residential construction, manufactured housing, disaster recovery, or related construction operations.
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors and overseeing field construction activities.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, inspections, and quality standards.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and mobile field reporting applications.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in active construction environments and travel locally to project sites.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day oversight and guidance to Field Technicians and subcontractors on active project sites.
  • Manage schedule to complete project site visits and report on construction tasks related to home demolition, site prep, installation of manufactured housing units and residential home reconstruction.
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with project scope, schedule, and quality expectations.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance to ensure work meets program standards, municipal codes, and project specifications.
  • Identify onsite issues and coordinate solutions with the Construction Manager and project stakeholders.
  • Assist with maintaining project schedules and tracking key milestones.
  • Coordinate and attend municipal inspections and program-required inspections.
  • Ensure inspection requirements and corrections are completed and documented.
  • Maintain compliance with company safety policies and construction standards.
  • Maintain daily field reports, site notes, and photo documentation through company field reporting systems.
  • Provide regular updates to the Construction Manager regarding project progress, risks, and schedule impacts.
  • Ensure inspection status, completion dates, and field activity updates are properly recorded.
  • Promote and enforce Timberline's commitment to Safety and Quality across project sites.
  • Assist in verifying workmanship quality and adherence to project plans and specifications.
