Manufacturing / Process Engineers serve as the critical link between design engineering and production operations. As a Senior Manufacturing / Process Engineer, you will focus on developing new composite structures and enhancing existing structures manufactured in the composite bonding area. This role requires ownership of assigned manufacturing processes and components, with responsibilities spanning from technical development to communication with both executive leadership and certified operators on the production floor.

  • Ensure compliance with engineering specifications, processes, and procedures that support the manufacturing of carbon fiber reinforced composite structures.
  • Support the development of detailed cost models and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Assist in capital purchases by preparing comprehensive Statements of Work.
  • Review, interpret, and approve engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Develop and maintain bonding work instructions, repair plans, and vendor fabrication instructions.
  • Design and implement new and revised bonding and inspection tooling.
  • Develop and implement effective repair plans to restore product compliance.
  • Support the introduction of new products into manufacturing, including evaluating manufacturability of design concepts and providing cost estimates and ROI for automation opportunities.
  • Develop tooling concepts and production methodologies for automation cells.
  • Participate in business reviews and provide technical manufacturing insight.
  • Assist with material, tooling, and process selection for Engineering Development Programs.
  • Provide production troubleshooting support and daily direction to both hourly and salary manufacturing personnel.
  • Lead process improvement, driving labor hour and cycle reduction initiatives and enhanced productivity.
  • Lead activities related to factory layout and capacity planning.
  • Support FAA, NADCAP, AS9100, and Customer audit activity.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to troubleshoot issues related to quality and delivery.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing or a related engineering field in the design, construction, and manufacturing of composite structures.
  • Proficiency in CATIA 3D modeling software.
  • U.S. Person status or government authorization for access to export-controlled technology.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Experience communicating in cross-functional teams.
