About The Position

Under supervision of the Community Center Director and Community Center Shift Supervisor, the Lead Activity Coordinator will assist in supervising CC Staff, planning and organizing activities. Oversee the Community Center daily operations to provide the Muckleshoot Community a place to engage in recreational, educational, and cultural activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Three (3) years’ experience in supervising activities and eight (8) years’ experience coordinating activities.
  • Skilled in: Supervisory techniques and practices to include managing, scheduling, assigning, coordinating, and monitoring work of others; motivational techniques; communicating effectively verbally and in writing; listening effectively; observing reactions/interactions of others; problem-solving; conflict resolution; evaluating options and implementing solutions; using a computer and standard office equipment.
  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Knowledge of: Mathematics; the English language including composition and grammar; methods of teaching and instruction for individuals and groups; laws and government regulations; human behavior and performance; learning and motivation; Native American culture and history; drug and alcohol rehabilitation.
  • Ability to: Maintain confidentiality; maintain a positive attitude and work ethic; effectively communicate information and ideas, both written and verbal; comprehend information, both written and verbal; form culturally competent, non-judgmental, supportive and empowering relationships with youth; gather and interpret data, reach logical conclusions, and present findings and recommendations; use independent judgment. Must be able to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing, implementing, and evaluating a variety of recreational, educational, and cultural programs that meet the needs and interests of the community.
  • Assist in overseeing and coordinate the work of other staff and volunteers, including training, scheduling, and providing guidance to ensure effective program delivery.
  • Collaborate with community members, departments and stakeholders to assess needs and gather feedback for program improvement and enhancement.
  • Assist in organizing and coordinating special events, workshops, and activities, including logistics such as venue setup, marketing, and participant registration.
  • Create promotional materials and utilize social media, newsletters, and other channels to inform the community about available programs and activities.
  • Ensure that all programs and activities adhere to safety regulations and organizational policies, including risk management and emergency procedures.
  • Assist in tracking participation and outcomes of programs, maintaining records and providing reports to management on program effectiveness and areas for improvement.
  • Provide excellent customer service to participants and community members, addressing inquiries, feedback, and concerns in a professional manner.
  • This is a hands on position, attendance at work is an essential job function.
  • Maintains professional dress standards and personal appearance as dictated by the policy manual.
  • Meets attendance guidelines by reporting to work as scheduled with dependability and consistency.
  • Because of the Tribe's commitment to community service and the well-being of its members, each employee may be expected to perform a wide range of office and field duties from time to time. Such duties may or may not be related to their regular responsibilities.
