Join a team that has received numerous awards for being a top place to work: TruStage awards and recognition The Communication Business Partner focuses on the role of assigned executive(s) and their value chain accountabilities in achieving enterprise goals and is responsible for activating and supporting TruStage enterprise business goals through effective communications strategies with internal and external stakeholders. The position works in close alignment with staff, executive and business unit leaders to develop communication strategies, plans and programs that support business goals and drive alignment and engagement with stakeholders - helping to achieve the company’s purpose, deliver its strategies and live its brand principles and values as the organization continues its commitment to growth. All in a complex hybrid environment where stakeholders may be in-person, virtual and most often both. The role is responsible for the development and execution of communication strategies that work in tandem with our marketing strategies to grow the company’s business through image and reputation management, thought-leading messaging platforms that drive employee and stakeholder engagement in ways that explicitly align with the company’s long-term purpose and principles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication or equivalent work experience.
  • 12+ years of related experience.
  • Experience in agency, corporate or highly regulated industry sector preferred
  • 7+ years’ experience working in a senior communications role, holding progressively responsible leadership positions in broad-based communications function.
  • Innovative, strategic business partner with demonstrated expertise in developing and leading strategic communications plans to advance business objectives.
  • Exceptional oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to give concise, compelling verbal presentations to senior decision-makers, and to respond quickly and thoughtfully to challenges and opportunities.
  • Demonstrated credibility, maturity and ability to provide strategic counsel, coaching and support to executives and senior business leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to craft content for multichannel delivery, leveraging social media and digital channels to deliver on key business objectives.
  • Experience using generative AI, a significant plus.
  • Ability to handle complex, highly sensitive matters with the utmost in professionalism and confidentiality, ranging from staffing changes, crises, M&A actions and more.
  • Strong project planning, implementation, and measurement experience, including ability to manage a wide range of projects simultaneously and achieve desired results on time and within budget.
  • Highly developed critical thinking/analysis skills.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills, including integrity, inclusiveness, empathy, courage, and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and measure effectiveness of communications strategies and plans for executive stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all communications at the business unit level consistently reflect business unit and enterprise goals, TruStage’s purpose, principles and values and adhere to brand standards and key messaging platforms.
  • Ensure communication strategies are forward-thinking, engaging, and support and enhance the company’s strategic direction.
  • Develop a comprehensive communications plan for assigned executive(s) and ensure that the executive's vision and messaging is aligned with the CEO's and is clearly and consistently communicated to all stakeholders.
  • Ensure delivery of internal and external executive communications (e.g., board meetings, employee forums, external forums, media, social media) and function-specific communication to employees (e.g., internal announcements).
  • Partner with HR to deliver consistent messages on the TruStage employment brand internally and externally and increase visibility of TruStage as an employer of choice.
  • Provide communications counsel to the executive(s), senior leadership team, and other business unit leaders. This includes regular participation in executive leadership team meetings to maintain close connection with key priorities and actions of the business unit as these provide important context for communications with all stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate strong skills in storytelling, writing and editing clear, concise, and compelling materials, speeches, and briefs – quickly and under pressure.
  • Stay current on advances in communications techniques, audience insights and change management best practices to inform and inspire audiences to action.
  • Enhance the executive’s image and reputation as an industry thought leader on issues of relevance to TruStage and its stakeholders.
  • Partner with marketing leaders to identify opportunities for the executive to develop and demonstrate thought leadership that supports and enhances the TruStage image and reputation.
  • Develop and deliver strategies for engaging stakeholders.
  • Lead the planning and preparation of business unit events (in-person and virtual) that require communication support and demonstrate the value of TruStage; these events include business area Town Hall meetings as well as periodic industry meetings hosted at our facilities or elsewhere.
  • Write executive's speaking points and materials for participation in enterprise and industry events.
  • Responsible for communication plan development and execution supporting change management and crisis response within assigned business units.
