About The Position

General Parts is seeking a skilled and motivated Refrigeration Service Technician to join our team. This role combines hands-on field service work with the opportunity to mentor and train new refrigeration technicians. The ideal candidate is highly experienced in commercial refrigeration systems, thrives in a dynamic environment, and is passionate about developing the next generation of technicians.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience servicing commercial refrigeration equipment
• EPA Universal Certification
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and be able to pass a background check
• Previous experience training or mentoring technicians
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial refrigeration and kitchen equipment at customer locations
• Perform routine maintenance and emergency service calls on refrigeration systems, including walk-ins, reach-ins, ice machines, and prep equipment
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and industry standards
• Maintain accurate service records, parts usage, and customer documentation
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding equipment issues, repair timelines, and preventative maintenance recommendations
• Train and mentor new refrigeration service technicians in both classroom-style and hands-on field environments
• Demonstrate proper diagnostic techniques, repair procedures, and safety protocols
• Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance support to trainees
• Assist in developing training materials, SOPs, and best practices
• Support onboarding and skill development programs for new hires
