The Lead Appraiser performs professional and administrative work as part of a team in the evaluation of various property classes in the City and County of Broomfield. Work involves a variety of highly technical procedures to value various types of property as established by the State of Colorado to establish property taxes. When compared to other Front Range Counties and Municipalities, a smaller parcel count allows this position to own the process from start to finish, fostering a deep understanding and ownership of each case. Additionally, less time spent in hearings allows for more essential appraisal work, leading to increased development of expert skills and the ability to hone one's craft. Our ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual able to provide direction to the Commercial Appraisal team and work closely and collaboratively with the Commercial Appraiser III. Someone with extensive appraisal experience, including 2-3 years of direct experience in commercial valuation and 2 years of ad valorem experience, will be able to hit the ground running. This position serves as an expert witness for a variety of valuation hearings and, as such, must have experience with this in the past.
