About The Position

The Lead Coating Engineer will work in a highly skilled cross-functional team engaged in the advancement of aircraft coating systems. In this role, you will guide a multi-disciplinary team to achieve a set of development objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science with a minimum of 3 years engineering experience or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years engineering experience.
  • Military experience is equivalent to professional experience.

Nice To Haves

  • B.S, M.S. or PhD degree in Materials Engineering, Materials Science or Metallurgy from an accredited college or university.
  • Technology Readiness Level (TRL) maturation plan development and execution experience.
  • 6 years of engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Education or experience with materials or Jet engine systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development projects for the improvement and usage of materials, coatings, and processes undertaken to build, apply, or shape the materials.
  • Remain current in the state of the art within own technical specialty for new products introduction activity, performance improvements, cost reductions and problem resolutions.
  • Create and manage project timelines.
  • Create and execute test plans.
  • Understand and apply technical requirements from specifications and engineering drawings that impact materials and processes and provide guidance to multidisciplinary teams.
  • Evaluate, compare and obtain property data to guide material selection.
  • Perform metallurgical and compositional evaluations.
  • Make recommendations after analysis of the data using quality tools.
  • Document and communicate development results through technical reports and presentations.
  • Identify Materials and Process technology gaps and propose solutions for component durability or future designs.
  • Protect the Intellectual Property rights of the Company.
