About The Position

The Lead CNC Operator will play a crucial role in a dynamic manufacturing environment, responsible for operating CNC machines, leading a shift, and ensuring the production of high-quality components while adhering to safety and quality standards. This position is essential for maintaining efficiency and precision in the manufacturing process, particularly during the 2nd shift.

Requirements

• Strong mechanical knowledge and experience in operating CNC machines in a manufacturing facility.
• Experience in G code programming.
• Experience working with stainless steel and carbon stainless steel.
• Experience in making tooling changes and troubleshooting on the fly.
• Knowledge of chuck work, workpiece alignment, toolpath planning, balancing speed and feed, part off, and safety procedures.
• Some metallurgy knowledge and threading geometry knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines according to specifications and production schedules.
• Interpret technical drawings and CAD files to produce precise parts.
• Conduct quality control checks throughout the production process to ensure adherence to specifications.
• Utilize GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles for accurate measurements.
• Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment and troubleshoot any issues that arise during operation.
• Handle materials safely, including loading and unloading parts using a forklift when necessary.
• Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and improve efficiency.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety protocols.
