The Target Pay Range for this position is $141,025 - $156,695 annually. The Mars Petcare Division, Science & Diagnostics, is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Lead Cloud Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our dynamic Digital Technology team. The ideal candidate will lead the implementation, migration, and management of Oracle databases hosted on cloud platforms, ensuring high availability, security, and optimal performance. This role requires a deep understanding of Oracle database technologies, best practices in database administration, and willingness to learn new skills and technologies including other database systems, cloud infrastructure, and more.   • Lead architecture, deployment and maintenance of Oracle databases in cloud environments.
  • Design and implement database solutions that meet business requirements for scalability, reliability and security.
  • Manage database tuning, capacity planning and resource optimization.
  • Develop and enforce database security policies including access controls, encryption and compliance
  • Oversee backup, recovery and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability
  • Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and security teams to support application deployments and cloud migrations.
  • Establish and maintain database monitoring, alerting and reporting systems.
  • Drive automation initiatives for database tasks.
  • Evaluate and recommend new database technologies, tools and services to improve operational efficiency
  • Ensure adherence to IT governance, complaints, and audit requirements.
  • Document database architectures, configurations and procedures.
  • Database support and incident resolution.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 7+ years as an Oracle DBA with at least 3 years in cloud-based Oracle database administration.
  • Strong expertise in Oracle Database versions 11g and newer
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS RDS and Microsoft Azure Database Services.
  • Proficiency in database performance tuning, SQL optimization and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in monitoring and testing database performance.
  • Experience with Oracle Active Data Guard, RMAN, GoldenGate, and RAC
  • Knowledge of database security best practices such as encryption in transit and at rest
  • Experience building redundant database setups for mission critical applications.
  • Linux, AIS, and Windows experience.
  • Strong scripting skills in Shell, SQLPlus, and PL/SQL for automation
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code and Configuration management.
  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or equivalent certification
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager, DataDog, CloudWatch, etc.
  • Experience with other database technologies such as SQL Server and PostgreSQL
