About The Position

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) seeks a Lead Cloud Architect to join our innovative cloud infrastructure team. In this role, you will collaborate directly with our federal client to modernize and expand their cloud capabilities, enabling their mission-critical operations through cutting-edge cloud solutions. We manage multi-cloud environments, and as a key technical leader, you will shape architectures, synthesize cross-agency requirements, and drive successful implementation.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen/Green Card Holder eligible for Public Trust clearance.
  • 10+ years of IT/digital transformation experience.
  • 5+ years of deep hands-on AWS (preferred), Azure, or GCP cloud architectures and implementations.
  • Strong communication and collaboration ability
  • Expertise leading multi-tenant cloud systems (e.g., landing zones, multi-account systems).
  • Experience developing and managing high-availability, secure, and automated solutions aligned with best practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with DevOps/DevSecOps methodologies and tools (e.g., Terraform, Jenkins, GitLab).
  • Professional Cloud Certifications (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Proven experience bridging on-premise systems with cloud environments.

Responsibilities

  • Architectural Leadership: Lead the design of scalable cloud infrastructure, including landing zone architecture across AWS, Azure, and GCP platforms. Develop systems to scale support for multi-cloud environments, cross-account applications, SASE, and automated solutions.
  • Solution Development: Collaborate with client stakeholders to define technical requirements and objectives. Design and implement solutions leveraging AWS Well-Architected Framework and hybrid cloud strategies.
  • Team Enablement & Mentorship: Guide a team of DevOps and SecOps engineers, ensuring innovative and secure cloud strategies. Promote CI/CD practices and automation tools for provisioning cloud services.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with senior leadership, enterprise architecture teams, and agency personnel to build cloud adoption strategies. Communicate complex cloud architectures effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
