About The Position

Care for our community, and your career. Responsible to oversee and support office daily activities, to include: Scheduling patients for office visits and follow up appointments. Registering patients in electronic medical record system; ensuring accuracy of patient demographics and insurance information; accurate completion of insurance questionnaires/forms. Medical record management: preparation of charts for upcoming appointments; responsible to ensure all necessary documentation is in the chart prior to filing; obtaining appropriate medical release form prior to copying/forwarding patient information. Entering appropriate billing information at check-out. Collection of co-pays from patients. Ensuring accuracy of submitted bills. Entering hospital charges. Must have understanding of CPT and ICD-10 coding. Responsible to assist in the development and maintenance of workflows to maximize office efficiencies. Will be required to function as office staff as required by workload and staffing

Requirements

  • High school level of knowledge.
  • Proficiency with word processing software, with minimum typing speed of 40 wpm.
  • Ability to compose correspondence and proof assignments to ensure accuracy of documents.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Detail attentiveness required.
  • Individual must be self-motivated and willing to direct staff.
  • Ability to simultaneously handle multiple assignments and projects with speed and accuracy.
  • Able to work efficiently and effectively under time constraints.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a health care environment preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
