In addition, specific functions may change from time to time: Maintains a positive parent-teacher relationship Interacts appropriately with children Maintains Learning Centers Maintains a warm, inviting child friendly classroom environment Plans and implements Educational programs and daily activities Establishes a weekly schedule and lesson plan Promotes each child's social, emotional, intellectual and physical development Provides a clean, safe and healthy work environment Maintains accurate records Documents children's progress and completes all State required documents Provides instruction for Teachers Manages children's behavior Comply with the provisions of the Child Maltreatment Reporting Act by bringing any suspected cases of child maltreatment to Director or Co-Director for possible reporting to the designated reporting agency Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required
  • CPR and First Aid certifications required
  • Infant Toddler Safe Sleep (ITS-SIDS) certification required
  • 1 year of responsible classroom experience in a professional large Child Care Center required
  • Knowledge of physical, intellectual, emotional, and social characteristics of children ages birth-five years old and up to 12 years old for Weekend Care
  • Knowledge of State Child Care regulations
  • Work involves a variety of activities to include walking, standing and lifting of children and various objects
  • Ability to stand for 30 minutes
  • Ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and age appropriately
