As a Lead Systems Engineer, you will lead the technical development of and own the evolving technical baseline for an existing, complex network communications system comprised of multiple systems and system elements. The ideal candidate demonstrates a positive, hands-on, collaborative approach, partnering with both engineering and the business leadership to inform and drive a cohesive market strategy. EMSS is a Satellite-based Personal Communications System (PCS), utilizing a commercial satellite infrastructure to provide voice and low data rate data services from a mobile, lightweight terminal through a DoD dedicated gateway which accesses the Defense Information Systems Network (DISN). It is capable of providing secure services, in addition to non-secure access to commercial telephone services. This Lead Systems Engineering role with L3Harris will be the senior technical authority on a program pursuit, or team to design and develop a system/subsystem product. He or she has the responsibility for ensuring the technical integrity of the system product and providing leadership of the engineering team as well as overseeing execution on all engineering aspects. The Lead or 'Chief' SE is the primary technical point of contact to management and the Customer. This role will begin in Dulles, VA and transfer to Herndon, VA at a TBD date.
