About The Position

Are you an experienced CDL A Driver looking to advance your career while staying local? At 160 Driving Academy, we are hiring a Lead CDL A Instructor to mentor instructors, oversee student training, and ensure high-quality instruction. In this role, you will guide both instructors and students, helping them succeed in the trucking industry. Requirements

• Must reside in Pennsylvania or have a residence in place for relocation.
• Valid CDL Class A license with a minimum of 24 months of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience.
• Safe driving record and ability to pass DOT physical and drug/alcohol screening.
• Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to mentor students.
• Basic computer skills to track student progress and scheduling.

Nice To Haves

• Leadership experience.
• Experience mentoring or training instructors and students.
• Driver Training Instructor certification (If required by the state, we provide guidance and support to help you obtain this certification.)
• Knowledge of FMCSA and CDL training standards.
• Ability to adapt instruction to different learning styles.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and support instructors to ensure effective and engaging training.
• Oversee student training by leading pre-trip inspections, yard skills, and road driving instruction.
• Emphasize safety and professionalism in all aspects of training.
• Monitor student progress and assist instructors in preparing students for their CDL exams.
• Track training effectiveness and provide feedback to improve instruction.
• Maintain proper documentation, including student evaluations and training records.
• Work collaboratively with other instructors to provide an effective training experience.
