About The Position

The Lead Case Manager for the NFL Player Care Foundation at Tulane University will work within a comprehensive interdisciplinary medical team to assess and address the needs of former NFL players. This role focuses on providing specialized services related to medical, mental health, employment, and other essential support for this unique population. The position also involves clinical and research efforts in partnership with Tulane University School of Medicine, particularly in conducting the Healthy Body and Mind Screening program, which offers cardiovascular and prostate screenings along with mental health resources and education.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Rehabilitation Counseling from an accredited program.
• Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Certified Rehab Counselor (CRC) in Louisiana (or ability to obtain before start date).
• Five years of experience with direct patient care, case management, and psychosocial issues of adults.
• Clinical knowledge and treatment skills, including clinical writing and management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in an academic environment and advocate for patient services.

Nice To Haves

• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
• Experience working with collegiate or professional athletes, active duty military, and/or veterans.
• Experience in mental health rehabilitation and complex medical and neurological conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient care needs for former NFL players.
• Provide specialized services including medical, mental health, and employment support.
• Coordinate clinical and research efforts in the NFL Player Care Foundation.
• Manage patient assessment, treatment planning, and coordination of services.
• Conduct multidisciplinary staffing and ongoing program monitoring and development.
