About The Position

American Workforce Group is hiring for a Lead Carpenter on behalf of a trusted client in the South Sound area. The client specializes in high-quality residential construction and land development, serving cities like Olympia, Tumwater, Centralia, and more. They are looking for a skilled, reliable, and motivated individual to lead carpentry crews and contribute to a wide range of projects, from installing premium windows to preparing and reshaping land. The role involves residential construction, carpentry, excavation, grading, and general labor.

Requirements

• Proven experience in residential carpentry and construction
• Skilled in reading blueprints and measuring accurately
• Proficient with hand and power tools (saws, drills, nail guns, etc.)
• Able to lift 50–75 lbs
• Capable of standing, stooping, bending, and pulling for extended periods
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced outdoor environment
• Must be able to pass a drug screen
• Background restrictions may apply

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist in residential carpentry and general labor
• Measure, mark, cut, and shape materials accurately using hand and power tools
• Install windows (Jeld Wen, Alpine Windows) and other structural elements
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
• Oversee and maintain job site safety and productivity
• Perform framing, trim work, siding, and finish carpentry
• Handle site preparation tasks including brush clearing and grading
• Build or assist in the construction of sheds, enclosures, and other outbuildings
