About The Position

Van Acker Construction (VAC) is seeking an experienced Lead Carpenter to join our project team on a multi-acre, high-end residential estate construction project south of Portland. This historic single-family property demands both technical excellence and a deep respect for craftsmanship. The Lead Carpenter oversees daily field operations across this large-scale site, managing subcontractor coordination, scheduling, and performing advanced rough and finish carpentry. Reporting directly to the Senior Site Superintendent, you'll serve as their eyes and ears across the property—keeping multiple teams aligned, identifying issues before they become problems, and ensuring this exceptional project stays on track. This is a hands-on, field-based role for someone who thrives on movement, variety, and problem-solving. You'll work across the entire site daily, translating high-end architectural designs into reality through skilled execution and confident leadership. This position is available immediately and expected to last 12-18 months.

  • Forward-thinking approach: anticipates project needs and organizes activities accordingly
  • Ownership mindset: deeply committed to project success, teammates, and company values
