About The Position

The Lead Caregiver at Trulee Evanston is responsible for providing high-quality personal care and support to residents in an assisted living environment. This role involves assisting residents with daily activities, ensuring their comfort and safety, and maintaining a calm and hospitable atmosphere. The Lead Caregiver will work under the supervision of the Assisted Living/Inspirations Director and is expected to follow community policies and procedures while delivering excellent customer service.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• First Aid and CPR certification with annual recertification.
• One year of experience working in assisted living or with seniors preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with residents suffering from dementia.
• Mathematical skills for basic calculations.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal care activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and continence care.
• Perform vital signs checks and maintain residents' personal hygiene.
• Make and strip beds as needed and manage personal laundry for residents.
• Assist residents during meal times, including cutting food and encouraging them to eat.
• Utilize special programs offered by the community to enhance resident care.
• Document resident status and report any unusual behavior to the Assisted Living/Inspirations Director.
• Respond to emergency calls and provide emergency care within the scope of practice.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing incidental housekeeping tasks as needed.
• Follow Residents' Rights policies and community procedures at all times.
