Requirements

• An appropriate credential in echocardiography: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
• Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
• Canadian Registered Cardiac Sonographer (CRCS), Sonography Canada
• Advanced Cardiac Sonographer (ACS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
• Three (3) years of experience in a hospital setting
• Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification

Nice To Haves

• Graduate from an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology
• Congenital echocardiography experience

Responsibilities

• Leads the daily activities and assignments of the modality.
• Acts and serves as a resource and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the cardiologists, echo staff, and other departments.
• Acts as a liaison between their department and referring physician’s offices.
• Will be responsible for maintaining performance improvement documentation in cardiac ultrasound in accordance with IAC (Intersocietal Accreditation Commission).
