Concord Recreation is seeking Lead Counselors for Summer Camp 2026. Lead Counselors must love and embrace not only the camp environment but also the camp philosophy that campers come first, we work as a team, and summer is a time to play, learn, and grow. Lead Counselors guide children through their daily activity schedule while encouraging and empowering them to participate in activities such as sports, music, art, swimming, and more. Lead Counselors oversee the administrative aspects of group management including rosters, child specific plans, morning and afternoon meetings, lost and found, and child specific documentation. Lead counselors also take on an active role in mentoring and coaching the co-staff within their groups. While Lead Counselors do not directly supervise their co-staff, they are responsible for resolving disputes, implementing clear goals and effective protocols for the camper group, and supporting the development of their co-staff. The person in this position should feel confident in their abilities to manage camper behavior, navigate interpersonal conflicts with other staff, and assertively direct their group throughout the entirety of the camp day.
