About The Position

The Low Voltage Infrastructure Team within the Embedded Platform Systems & Infrastructure organization is focused on developing systems, software, and controls for on-vehicle low voltage power generation, energy storage, power management, distribution, and consumption control. There is no better time to join this newly formed team as we evolve toward next-generation low voltage power architectures and consumption control strategies in GM’s future Electrical Architecture. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Lead Calibration Engineer to join GM's Low Voltage Infrastructure group. This role serves as the Low Voltage Ecosystem Champion, driving system performance quality, calibration consistency, and cross-program alignment. The engineer will act as the single point of contact to program teams, compile full LVI calibration scripts, advise calibration engineers, manage the calibration fleet, lead issue resolution efforts, and support simulation and agile development through story decomposition.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Minimum of 7 years of post-graduation engineering experience
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in calibration engineering
  • Proven leadership capabilities with a track record of driving results, demonstrating initiative, and maintaining strong “it’s on me” ownership.
  • Demonstrated strength in defining, refining, and enforcing processes and procedures, with the ability to redesign and lead effective operating rhythms such as the Low Voltage Product Health Standup to drive clarity, accountability, and execution excellence.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead and collaborate across complex, cross-functional teams in ambiguous environments.
  • Highly motivated, tenacious, and curious individual with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Comfortable engaging with senior leadership, including Chief Engineers and Program Managers.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard calibration and SW tools such as JIRA, INCA, Vehicle Spy, CRETA, MDA, and MATLAB/Simulink
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Experience with data acquisition systems and advanced data analysis techniques

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Engineering.
  • 10+ years of post-graduation engineering experience
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in calibration engineering
  • DFSS Black Belt Certification
  • Experience providing technical direction and mentorship to other engineers
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and remove roadblocks to maintain momentum and meet program goals
  • Experience working with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) test benches
  • Familiarity with low voltage electric power control features and systems
  • Prior leadership in program-level calibration delivery or feature release.

Responsibilities

  • Own and lead LVI feature performance and ecosystem health status across vehicle programs
  • Coordinate calibration planning efforts to ensure high-quality, on-time release of LVI calibration scripts
  • Lead the technical development of calibration engineers through mentoring, coaching, and skill-building initiatives to elevate overall team capability and execution quality.
  • Compile and release high-quality and defect free LVI calibration scripts using tools such as CRETA, ensuring alignment with program milestones
  • Support resource planning and requirement identification for calibration development activities, while facilitating story creation and ensuring seamless integration into Scrum workflows using JIRA.
  • Lead issue resolution efforts across vehicle, plant, durability/dyno, and customer domains, driving timely closure and long-term corrective actions
  • Own and continuously improve Low Voltage operating processes and procedures, including leading and evolving the LV Product Health Standup to drive clear priorities, risk visibility, accountability, and timely issue resolution
  • Collaborate with Technical Specialists and Subsystem Leads to align calibration strategies across vehicle lines and ensure technical coherence.
  • Develop and optimize calibrations within Low Voltage Infrastructure, focusing on cross-program commonization and adherence to Calibration Standard Work
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve vehicle, system, and controls deficiencies through collaboration with responsible teams
  • Apply analytical tools to develop, validate, and improve calibration quality
  • Conduct calibration reviews to ensure consistency, robustness, and alignment with performance targets
  • Develop, refine, and implement calibration procedures to support standardization and continuous improvement
  • Participate in development trips and test activities to support calibration validation and refinement
