Vanguard Resources, Inc. (VRI), is actively recruiting for a highly skilled and experienced Lead Building Engineer to support the maintenance, operation, and safety of our high-rise corporate office building, in Dallas, TX. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence and lead a team of technicians and ensure the building's systems operate efficiently, reliably, and in compliance with all safety standards.   • Supervise and coordinate the daily operations and maintenance of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and security systems.
  • Lead and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, providing training, support, and performance evaluations.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to optimize system performance and longevity.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance issues, emergencies, and tenant requests to minimize downtime and ensure occupant safety.
  • Monitor building systems' performance, analyze data, and recommend improvements for energy efficiency and cost savings.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including safety and environmental standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and service providers for specialized repairs and upgrades.
  • Assist in budgeting, procurement, and inventory management for maintenance supplies and equipment.
  • Minimum 2 years of trade schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration, and HVAC.
  • 5+ years of experience in facility/plant engineering maintenance with at least 5 years in supervision.
  • Exposure to HVAC, fluid handling/pumping, fluid filtering, mechanical systems, welding, and electrical systems engineering and operation.
  • Ability to analyze system operations, determine causes of problems, and take corrective actions.
  • Proficient in using computers and software, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must hold an EPA 608 Universal HVAC Certification.
  • Additional certifications in electrical, plumbing, or mechanical systems are highly desirable.
  • Ongoing training and certification renewals are required to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements, which include: stooping, standing, climbing, and frequent lifting of a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Possess a current, valid State-Issued Drivers License with clean driving record.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen and extensive criminal background check.
  • Relevant certifications such as HVAC license, Facilities Management certification, or equivalent are preferred.
