What this job involves: As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing critical building systems to ensure optimal facility operations. You'll work hands-on with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems while supporting preventative maintenance programs and emergency response activities. This role requires technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while delivering exceptional client service. What your day-to-day will look like: Perform maintenance, monitoring, and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire/life safety, and building automation systems • Respond to emergency service calls and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions in a timely manner, conduct preventative maintenance activities including cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and replacing components, maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and manage inventory for equipment and supplies • Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors to ensure quality work and competitive pricing, replace lighting fixtures, ballasts, and perform electrical repairs as needed, monitor building automation systems and make necessary adjustments to optimize performance

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent with two years of trades schooling in electrical systems, refrigeration, and HVAC, or equivalent experience
  • 2-5 years of hands-on experience in building maintenance, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
  • Self-motivated team player with excellent mechanical aptitude
  • Thorough understanding of safety protocols and environmental regulations related to facility operations
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with building automation systems (BAS) and energy management systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for reporting and documentation
  • Knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, boilers, and chilled water systems
  • Familiarity with electrical troubleshooting and motor repair
  • Experience with plumbing systems including pumps and water treatment
  • Understanding of fire/life safety systems and emergency procedures
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
