Job Summary We are seeking a Lead Bridge Engineer to join TYLin’s Bridge Sector in Rockaway, NJ. In this role, you will have the opportunity to participate in a broad portfolio of exciting projects regionally, nationally and internationally. The primary scope of this role is to develop bridge and structure designs for local agencies and design-build clients, deliver projects on time, on budget and with high quality. It requires strong project management skills as well as the ability to lead and mentor junior staff.

Requirements

Professional Engineering License (PE) in New Jersey, New York or Pennsylvania.
Bachelor’s degree in civil / structural engineering required.
Must have at least 15+ years of structural design experience in bridges and related structures.
Project management experience is also required.
Ability to perform advanced structural analysis and designs.
Familiarity with AASHTO, NJDOT, PennDOT and NJTA design and standards preferred.
Proficient in leading technical aspects of bridge projects, writing reports, preparing drawings, specifications, and engineering calculations.

Nice To Haves

Experience with long span bridges is an asset.
Advanced structural engineering and analysis capabilities, including ability to perform seismic analysis.
Design of concrete and steel bridge structures.
Master’s degree preferred.
Experience in CSI Bridge is a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform design and analysis of complex concrete and steel bridge structures.
Develop designs, contract plans and specifications.
Coordinate with and direct CAD production activities for drawing production.
Conduct quality control activities for independent review and checking of structural designs.
Interface with civil engineers for development of complete project plans and specifications.
Develop engineering studies, reports and documentation.
Oversee and review calculations and designs performed by engineers.
Other assignments as needed.
