The Lead, Box Office position at Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts is responsible for supervising Box Office Ticket Agents, ensuring exemplary customer service, and managing ticket sales operations. This role involves scheduling, training, and supporting staff while also handling customer inquiries and financial reconciliations. The Lead will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of ticketing processes and fostering a positive work environment within the arts center.

  • Act as a first line supervisor for Box Office Ticket Agents.
  • Manage weekly Box Office Ticket Agent schedule.
  • Support group sales efforts through order placement, processing, and fulfillment.
  • Assist customers and staff with first call/contact resolution for customer service issues.
  • Check subscription season and individual events in the ticketing system for accuracy.
  • Perform daily financial reconciliation and weekly vault reconciliation.
  • Provide clear communication to Box Office Ticket Agents regarding promotions and performance calendar.
  • Assist in the organization, mailing, and fulfillment of single ticket orders.
  • Maintain the organizational database in adherence to established practices.
  • Setup and breakdown of box office areas on the night of a show or performance.
  • Assist with Will Call and troubleshoot any issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures related to the department.
  • Support all operational policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate the core values of the arts center.
  • Maintain professional relationships with other departments and partners.
  • Work effectively under pressure during busy periods.
  • At least two years of experience in a Box Office environment with computerized ticketing software.
  • Knowledgeable in all aspects of the Box Office Ticket Agent role.
  • Prefer candidates with at least 6 months of supervisory/leadership experience.
  • Prior Performing Arts Front of House experience is a plus.
  • Interest and passion for the performing arts.
  • Strong ability to adapt to change and work effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; knowledge of a second language is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong attention to detail and effective multitasking skills.
  • Ability to handle cash and credit cards responsibly.
  • Knowledge of a second language is a plus.
  • Prior experience in a performing arts environment.
