About The Position

The Lead BCBA is responsible for the ethical and evidence-based delivery of behavior analytic services to an assigned subset of clients with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), in accordance with all guidelines stipulated by the Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB).  The position is dynamic and involves not only the application of clinical skills and case management, but also the ability to direct supervisee to carry out their jobs for the betterment of client outcomes.

Requirements

  • Employee must have a master’s degree, an active BCBA credential and maintain good standing with the BACB
  • Employee must have all required state licensure and be in good standing or be eligible to apply for licensure
  • Employee must be credentialed with commercial payers or eligible for credentialing
  • Employee must meet the supervisor requirements, as outlined by the BACB
  • Employee must demonstrate not only a thorough understanding of the principles of ABA, but also a strong clinical skillset
  • Employee must be organized, punctual, and able to set and meet goals and deadlines
  • Employee must demonstrate strong communication skills, across all modalities, and must be able to work alongside colleagues of their same discipline, but also other disciplines
  • Employee must demonstrate sound judgement, problem-solving, and flexibility
  • Employee must recognize and accommodate cultural differences and diversity
  • Employee must consistently demonstrate behavior in alignment with the organization’s core values
  • Employee must comply with all ethical codes of conduct
  • Completes all required documentation reflecting service provision, thoroughly and accurately, within the required timelines; Converts all sessions in time reporting platform within 24 hours of completion
  • Accepts supervisory feedback and adjusts behavior and practices accordingly

Responsibilities

  • Provides clinical case management for assigned caseload, which includes, but is not limited to completing assessments, conceptualizing goals and the course of therapy, recommending therapy hours, creating treatment plans for initial and reauthorizations, reviewing and summarizing data and other pertinent information to make treatment recommendations, report progress towards client treatment goals including transition and discharge planning, providing supervision, feedback and training to R/BTs implementing treatment plans ,ensure compliance with behavior intervention plans and crisis management protocols, monitoring treatment integrity, and communicating with all relevant stakeholders.
  • In accordance with industry guidelines (CASP), BCBA provides case supervision with a goal of 20% of time spent in session, but not less than 10% of time spent in session.
  • Involves the entire family or caregivers in treatment such that treatment plans include parent training goals, parents/caregivers are frequently updated on progress, growth, or areas of continued focus; BCBA will provide parent/caregiver/family guidance each month.
  • Supervises R/BTs monthly for at least 5% of their time spent in therapy, ensuring reliable data collection (90% or better), treatment fidelity (90% or better) using HTS checklists; Provides reinforcement and feedback as needed
  • Conducts regularly scheduled team meetings to give important client programming updates, provide teaching/coaching, and obtain team feedback.
  • Monitors and ensures that RBTs complete continuing education requirements as indicated by the BACB
  • Provides supervised fieldwork, in accordance with BACB guidelines, for clinical team members to obtain credentials (pLBA, BCaBA, and BCBA)
  • Responsible for supervision, mentoring, coaching, professional development and professional feedback for all supervised employees
  • Ensures the delivery of high-quality ABA services and promotes collaboration across therapy disciplines
  • Responsible for communicating organizational information and programmatic information to supervised employees
  • Responsible for overseeing the clinical utilization of all supervised employees and ensuring that all contracted sites are receiving intended contractual hours.
  • Responsible for interviewing and hiring for supervised positions
  • Assumes the responsibility of a mandated reporter concerning incidents of alleged abuse and neglect, as outlined by state guidelines and in accordance with the organization’s policies
  • Performs all other assigned duties as required
