About The Position

The Lead Base Building Technician will oversee all base building activities and provide direction to two base building technicians while using their working knowledge to troubleshoot, maintain and repair primary base building systems that are mechanical or electrical in nature. Considerable experience in life-safety systems will also be required.

Requirements

  • Possess a high school diploma, GED, or approved equivalent.
  • Associates in Electronics or Industrial Electricity or Industrial Maintenance preferred.
  • Universal CFC certification preferred.
  • Experience and proficiency in HVAC and Refrigeration, Plumbing Systems, Fire Alarms and Sprinkler Systems, Roof Systems, Electrical Distribution, Carpentry, and Industrial Tools.
  • Knowledge of N.E.C. and local/state codes.
  • Working knowledge of proper use of hand/power tools and electrical troubleshooting/diagnostic equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional certification in one or more of the following: electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and refrigeration systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team to run all base building activities at the site, including tracking their daily work, assigning tasks, and following up on the completion of those tasks.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot power distribution systems, branch circuits, lighting systems, transformers, and understand wiring methods and materials.
  • Inspect and perform preventive maintenance on generators, compressors, water heaters, pumps, motors, valves, etc.
  • Inspect building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities.
  • Maintain and repair air handling units, exhaust fans, fan coil units, reheat coils, and other associated air handling equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair plumbing systems, breakroom equipment, roofs, drains, windows, doors, gates, bollards, and fencing.
  • Order parts and facilitate repairs.
  • Communicate efficiently to all parties the status of various projects.
  • Review assigned work orders and estimate time and materials needed to complete repairs.
  • Participate in training and continued professional development.
