About The Position

Summer on Music Lane is looking for a Lead Bartender who will exceed the expectations of all guests in a multitude of tasks that include, but are not limited to, mixing and serving drinks to patrons (directly or through serving staff), waiting on bar patrons and serving them items from the bar menu, creating bar menu items, and all food preparation associated with Bar service.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED). College Degree preferred.
  • Six (6) months related experience in hospitality or service industry.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) of the workplace.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of co-workers and sister property staff.
  • Ability to create documents in Excel and Word.
  • Ability to understand other computer programs (i.e. Property Management System and Point of Sale).
  • Ability to perform basic math operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Responsibilities

  • Mix and serve drinks to patrons directly or through serving staff.
  • Wait on bar patrons and serve them items from the bar menu.
  • Create bar menu items.
  • Perform all food preparation associated with bar service.
  • Ensure immediate response to any guest complaints and concerns.
  • Accurately collect money for all orders taken.
  • Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.
  • Balance cash receipts.
  • Limit problems related to customers' excessive drinking.
  • Clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipment.
  • Take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from patrons.
  • Serve all bar patrons.
  • Clean bars, work areas, and tables.
  • Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
  • Serve snacks or food items to customers as requested.
  • Order or requisition liquors and supplies.
  • Ask unruly customers to leave.
  • Slice and pit fruit for snacks and garnishing drinks.
  • Arrange bottles and glasses to make attractive displays.
  • Plan, organize, and control the operations of the cocktail lounge or bar.
  • Plan bar menus.
  • Prepare food upon guest request or submit order to Kitchen.
  • Maintain cleanliness in all bar locations and perform regular inspections.
  • Maintain stock of all utensils, products, and resources in all bar areas.
  • Ensure proper receipt of invoiced product and proper storage.
  • Assist in month-end inventory counts and reporting.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with all departments and upper management.
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness and safety in the work area.
  • Ensure that all equipment is maintained in good, safe working condition.
  • Keep abreast of safety and emergency procedures and OSHA requirements.
  • Attend relevant meetings.
