About The Position

Frazier Farms Market is looking for an experienced, hands-on scratch baker to join our bakery team in a lead capacity. This role is ideal for someone who loves working with dough, understands fermentation, scaling, and production baking, and takes pride in consistently high-quality baked goods. This is not a decorator-only or heat-and-serve role. You will be actively baking from scratch every day while helping guide and support the bakery team.

Requirements

  • 2–5+ years of professional baking experience required
  • Strong scratch baking background (commercial or high-volume bakery preferred)
  • Prior lead or supervisory experience is a plus
  • Solid understanding of commercial baking processes and food safety
  • Reliable, organized, and able to work independently
  • Positive attitude and team-focused mindset
  • Open availability, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and able to obtain/maintain a CA Food Handler Card
  • Ability to stand for extended periods (6–8 hours)
  • Lift up to 50 lbs. and work in hot and cold environments
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand motions
  • Comfortable working around ovens, mixers, and bakery equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Prior lead or supervisory experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Prepare doughs, batters, fillings, and icings from scratch following established recipes
  • Mix, scale, shape, proof, bake, finish, and present breads, rolls, cookies, cakes, cupcakes, and seasonal items
  • Operate commercial mixers, ovens, and bakery equipment safely and efficiently
  • Adjust bake times, temperatures, and techniques to maintain consistent quality
  • Perform daily quality checks for freshness, texture, flavor, and appearance
  • Provide day-to-day direction and hands-on training to bakery associates
  • Help prioritize production, assign tasks, and meet daily baking goals
  • Serve as a lead presence in the bakery when the Bakery Manager is not on site
  • Lead by example with professionalism, teamwork, and a strong work ethic
  • Maintain strict compliance with food safety, sanitation, and allergen standards
  • Follow FIFO rotation, labeling, and proper storage procedures
  • Assist with receiving deliveries, inventory checks, and ingredient organization
  • Keep workstations, tools, and equipment clean and well-maintained
