About The Position
The Lead, Avionics Install position at Premier Air Center d/b/a West Star Aviation, LLC, is a full-time role based in East Alton, IL, requiring a comprehensive understanding of aircraft airframe, avionics, and electronics systems. The successful candidate will engage in various tasks including parts replacement, repair, electrical troubleshooting, and general mechanical applications. A significant aspect of this role involves supervising a team and directing project flow, ensuring that work is completed efficiently and in accordance with FAA regulations. Daily responsibilities will include processing work orders, maintaining log book entries, completing required FAA forms, and pricing services for customers. The position will support the Falcon airframe and will require the ability to work independently while leading multiple projects simultaneously. Direct customer interaction is also a key component of this role, necessitating strong communication skills and the ability to handle conflicts effectively. Essential functions of the position include the removal and installation of panels, components, and interiors, as well as performing repair work on avionics installations. The candidate will be responsible for stamping, bundling, and installing connectors on wiring, as well as removing old wiring and installing new wire bundles in aircraft. Troubleshooting and evaluating avionics systems efficiently is crucial, along with inspecting and evaluating aircraft and components as needed. The role may also involve aircraft movement and assistance in hangar stack operations, as well as maintenance and repair of shop facilities, equipment, and tooling. The Lead, Avionics Install will regularly lead or work independently on projects and will be expected to foster a collaborative team environment while guiding team members in their daily operations.
