About the position

The Lead Audio Visual Technician is responsible for the setup and operation of both basic and large-scale audiovisual systems. This role involves designing, planning, and installing AV systems, overseeing installation projects, and ensuring the functionality and maintenance of AV systems. The technician will also manage project communications and documentation, ensuring effective organization and workflow throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and install AV systems.
• Provide AV installation project oversight and updates.
• Inventory AV devices and materials intended for installation.
• Test and verify functionality of newly installed AV systems.
• Perform AV system maintenance and repair as needed.
• Organize project communications, deliverables, and workflow.
• Monitor project milestones to assist in proper schedule management.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Attend internal and external project meetings both in person and virtually.

Requirements

• Must possess at least a high school diploma or GED equivalency.
• OSHA 30 certification required.
• CTS-I certification required.
• Excellent experience with audiovisual or other electro-mechanical installation techniques.
• Experience working in public places (schools, city/state offices, etc.).
• Industry certifications (Panduit, Systimax, BICSI, etc.) preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Proven ability to lead both small and large groups of technicians.
• Proven ability to effectively organize project communications and documentation.
• Familiarity with MS Office Suite and other applicable software.

Nice-to-haves

• Formal education in electronics or a related field preferred.
• Advanced industry/manufacturer certifications/trainings (e.g., Forte Trainings, Audinate/Dante Levels 1-3, QSYS Level 2, Crestron 101).
• In-depth understanding of audio concepts and DSP configuration.
• Master level knowledge and performance of tasks in audio systems.
