About The Position

The Lead Attendant, Operations at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex (JRTC) plays a crucial role in managing the facility's operations, ensuring that all events run smoothly. This position involves overseeing various operational functions, mentoring staff, and maintaining high standards of service and cleanliness throughout the complex. The Lead Attendant will work closely with the Coordinator, Operations, to implement training programs and manage event setups, making it essential for the candidate to have strong leadership and organizational skills.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of experience working in facility or athletic operations preferred.
  • Supervisory experience of at least 1 year strongly preferred.
  • Self-starter who works as a team player and can work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of the game of baseball preferred.
  • Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite preferred.
  • Ability to work irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License and excellent driving record.
  • Ability to lift boxes and equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to pull tarp when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Coordinator, Operations to mentor and guide the Operations Attendants & Interns.
  • Develop and implement training programs for Operations Attendants focusing on equipment, safety, and operational best practices.
  • Assist in crafting detailed specifications for event setups and breakdowns, ensuring a high level of detail and consistency.
  • Lead regular briefings with Operations Attendants & Interns, ensuring the team is aligned with event-specific needs.
  • Oversee clubhouse operations, including organization of locker rooms, laundry, and minor cleaning tasks.
  • Act as clubhouse attendant when required for specific groups, ensuring superior guest service.
  • Spearhead the arrangement and preparation of all facilities, including but not limited to JRTC & MLB storage rooms, locker rooms, training rooms, and auxiliary sleeping quarters.
  • Coordinate the movement and setup of furniture and equipment throughout the JRTC.
  • Oversee hydration stations at athletic fields, ensuring cleanliness and readiness.
  • Strategically place barricades, cones, and signs to guide event traffic.
  • Assist in package deliveries which includes the management of MLB shipments to and from the facility.
  • Provide transportation for VIP's including to and from the airport on occasion.
  • Maintain positive relationships with all Information Technology staff.
  • Facilitate setup of all audio-visual needs for groups and JRTC internal events (indoors and outdoors).
  • Foster positive relationships with MLB personnel from other offices and other stakeholders.
  • Assist with the set up and breakdown of social events, ensuring they're executed flawlessly.
  • Assist in monitoring and removing garbage around the facility grounds, with a focus on exterior locations, to maintain a clean and inviting environment for guests.
  • Schedule and oversee cleaning of dugouts prior to and after use, in alignment with standard operation procedures.
  • Coordinate regular seating bowl cleaning at Holman Stadium.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Coordinator, Operations.
