About The Position

The Lead Athletic Trainer at Monument Health is a certified healthcare professional responsible for optimizing the activity and participation of clients through the prevention, assessment, and intervention of medical conditions. This role involves overseeing and implementing programs for the sports medicine team, assisting with performance training for athletes, and managing the scheduling and performance assessments of Athletic Trainers. The Lead ATC will also assist in budget oversight and ensure the safety and effectiveness of athletic training operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training
  • Certification as an Athletic Trainer (AT) from the South Dakota Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years of Athletic Trainer experience
  • 1+ years of healthcare experience
  • 5+ years of sports medicine experience
  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA)

Responsibilities

  • Assist with pre/post testing of camp participants and attend all staff training sessions and camp dates unless prior approval by supervisor.
  • Provide leadership and support to athletes as directed by supervisor.
  • Assist with daily set-up/tear-down of equipment and practice preventative maintenance of equipment.
  • Communicate patient concerns or problems effectively.
  • Respond appropriately in emergency situations and assist promptly and professionally when necessary.
  • Monitor supply inventory to assist with budget management.
  • Analyze systems and procedures, recommending changes to improve workflow and efficiency.
  • Maintain a filing system for tracking injuries, progress, referrals, and treatment orders from physicians for all athletes.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
