Position Purpose:Oversees a designated incinerator operations shift to ensure productivity goals are achieved while maintaining compliance with all applicable safety and health and environmental compliance regulations, and all Stericycle policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively and understand and follow health and safety directives and performance and conduct standards, policies and procedures that apply to the role and location.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • 3+ years related experience or training in a plant, warehouse, or manufacturing environment, demonstrating strong skills and tact.
  • Driver’s License.
  • One or more years of experience overseeing the work of others.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of barcode scanning and basic computer skills.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Hazardous Materials and OSHA Regulations.
  • Demonstrates the ability to operate a powered industrial truck, e.g., forklift.
  • Demonstrated thorough knowledge of the duties / responsibilities of Plant Workers, Fork Lift Operators and Yard Hostlers in order to provide operational and work direction accordingly.

  • Forklift Certification

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the Plant Workers for a designated shift.
  • Assists in the training and development of operations shift personnel in the performance of their job duties.
  • Assists in establishing, communicating, and driving shift performance goals.
  • Monitors operations and shift team metrics in order to recommend, where necessary, changes in processing methods, operational procedures and personnel utilization to maintain production efficiency.
  • Ensures the main blending line is loaded timely and properly to maintain the proper waste flow to the incinerator bin feed system.
  • Trouble shoots and addresses the issues of the conveyor systems.
  • Operates various conveyor systems, ensuring containers are sent to the proper area for receiving/ sorting.
  • Verifies proper scanning of waste into the S4 processing system for proper record keeping purposes.
  • Trouble shoots tub wash unit ensuring the wash unit is operating properly.
  • Removes clean tubs from wash unit, inspects tubs and stacks for loading onto assigned vehicle for reuse.
  • Tracks the repairs of all bins, to ensure they are serviceable, inputs data to properly allocate charges to origin facilities.
  • Ensures the proper decontamination of the vehicles cargo-carrying portion.
  • Completes all necessary logging and reporting documents neatly and accurately and file according to procedure.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
