About The Position

The Assembly Line Lead is tasked with leading a team of assembly workers, per work instructions and procedures, to ensure quality products are being produced according to the customer schedules, with all variances being reported to the supervisor immediately. This position requires the ability to engage and motivate a team, communicate professionally, and use critical thinking skills on a daily basis. This is a first shift position with a normal schedule of 6:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M., Monday through Friday. The environment is clean, climate controlled and comfortable.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1-2 years in a warehouse fulfillment and distribution environment preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend written and electronic job related materials including work instructions, safety documentation, and quality specifications.
• Ability to engage and motivate a team, promoting teamwork on a consistent basis.
• Ability to communicate and interact with a variety of internal/external customers and/or co-workers at level of detail required to resolve issues.
• Organized approach to task completion and excellent attention to detail.
• Detail oriented, efficient, self-motivated, and have good cognitive skills.
• Ability to work independently at a fast pace within a team environment.
• Production, quality and process oriented.

Responsibilities

• Leads team of assembly workers and temporary employees per work instructions and procedures.
• Train employees how to perform assigned tasks.
• Monitor break times to ensure that employees report back to work areas as scheduled.
• Monitors job quality by performing frequent quality inspections.
• Reports issues/problems in a timely manner to coordinator or supervisor for resolution.
• Completes all paperwork required for the position and maintains it according to procedures.
• Lead operation of equipment, such as shrink wrap, bag seal, label application, etc.
• Operate pallet jack to move pallets as needed.
• Labels, packs, stacks, folds, tapes and inserts material/product per work instructions and procedures.
• Maintain and meet production and schedule targets.
• Adhere to quality control procedures.
• Communicates effectively, efficiently, and appropriately with all employees and contract workers.
• Follows all safety procedures and reports suggested improvements or concerns to the supervisor.
• Participates in ensuring the warehouse is clean and organized and informs supervisor of suggestions or concerns.
• Participates in periodic staff meetings and other meetings as necessary.
• Participates in training and development programs as required of the position.
• Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
